Ronen Azulay was reflecting on his family’s journey to the Promised Land sixty years ago when he began this ambitious piece at his NYC studio. When his grandparent's were enticed to emigrate from Morocco with promises of a better life in the "Land of Milk and Honey", so was he drawn in his imagination to the bright colors he utilized in this work representing his own immigration to America. For both, them in the 50’s and for him in the 90’s, their resilience and endurance were severely tested with struggles to ultimately leverage the huge opportunities both country’s offered. The realization throughout the odyssey was that the adventure itself is the joy, filled with hope and reward while the unknown is yet to unfold.
